Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 in Aviano Italy), American actress. Her fame is for portraying naive characters that are adorable and enjoyable. Adams was born and lived in Castle Rock Colorado, as one of the seven kids who was her smallest. Her father served in U.S. service in Italy. In the early 1990s, Adams began performing and dancing professionally with the Boulder Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. When she moved to Minnesota and appearing in the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) about beauty pageants. After making her screen debut as a ditzy but good-natured contestant she moved into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and she was the mom of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began in the late 1940s when she was hired by MGM. She had been found by Norma Shearer. She starred in a number of popular films during the following decade, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954), starring Martin Lewis.
